San Diego Zoo Trip 10/31/06

Today we made our way tot he San Diego Zoo for the first time, needless to say, it was quite the experience. For the most part they had the run of the mill animals that you can see in most zoos, but the habitats were a lot nicer and the animals generally seemed healthier than I recall seeing in other cities, also, they had a few extra animals that you can't find many other places.

Unfortunately, none of the big cats wanted to come out and play as we got there just after feeding time and they were all asleep. We had pleanty of views of Lion-Ass, Tigers in the far distance, and Leopards lounging behind trees just barely out of view. The Bears (all 3 species) and the Hippos were highlights of the day, as all of them were out and all of them were almost showing off for the crowds (as you can tell from the videos posted below)
